BIM Engineer - Structural
Job Summary
Technovalence is actively seeking an accomplished and dynamic BIM Engineer with a specialization in structural engineering. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth understanding of BIM methodologies and will be responsible for the creation, management, and integration of high-quality BIM models for structural elements. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure the accuracy and seamless integration of structural designs, all while maintaining a focus on innovation, precision, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and optimize BIM models for structural components using advanced tools, including Revit.
- Foster close collaboration with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effective integration of structural designs within the overall BIM framework.
- Ensure the structural integrity and accuracy of BIM models, including detailed documentation for the entire project lifecycle.
- Conduct comprehensive clash detection and proactively resolve any structural discrepancies or conflicts within the BIM environment.
- Generate construction documents with precision and contribute to the creation of as-built documentation.
- Collaborate seamlessly with project teams to meet established project timelines and deliverables.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in BIM technology and structural engineering, ensuring continuous process improvements.
- Comply with internal and project-specific BIM standards, templates, and best practices to maintain consistency and quality across all deliverables.
- Support quality control initiatives and provide mentorship to junior team members when applicable.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Tech/BE in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in structural engineering and BIM.
- Proficiency in the application of BIM software, particularly Revit, with a focus on structural modeling and detailing.
Technical Skills:
- Profound understanding of structural engineering principles, design codes, and regulations.
- Advanced proficiency in BIM software (primarily Revit) with a robust expertise in structural modeling and detailing.
- Comprehensive knowledge of BIM standards and best practices within the structural domain.
- Extensive experience in clash detection and the resolution of conflicts within BIM models.
- Skilled in the generation of construction documentation and the management of as-built records.
Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Impeccable attention to detail, ensuring precision in modeling and documentation.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on achieving optimal solutions.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet project deadlines efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with additional BIM platforms (e.g., Navisworks, Tekla) is an advantage.
- BIM certifications or relevant qualifications in structural engineering tools are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced BIM methodologies and workflows.
- Experience with international and regional structural design standards, as well as BIM best practices.
