BIM – Coordinator (MEP Specialist)
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled BIM Coordinator (MEP Specialist) to manage and coordinate MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) BIM workflows in our projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in MEP modeling, coordination, and clash detection, ensuring seamless integration with structural and architectural disciplines. They will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to maintain accuracy and efficiency in BIM processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and coordinate MEP BIM models in compliance with project and industry standards.
- Perform clash detection and resolution between MEP, structural, and architectural models using Navisworks or similar tools.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers to optimize designs.
- Ensure adherence to BIM execution plans (BEP) and industry standards (ISO 19650, LOD, COBie, etc.).
- Conduct quality control on BIM models and review shop drawings.
- Assist in 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM applications.
- Automate repetitive tasks using Dynamo, Python, or similar scripting tools.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on BIM-related matters.
- Train and mentor junior BIM modelers in best practices and advanced workflows.
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in MEP BIM coordination in large-scale projects.
- Experience working on commercial, or high-rise building projects.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD MEP, and BIM 360.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Experience with clash detection and coordination using Navisworks Manage.
- Familiarity with BIM standards (ISO 19650, AIA BIM Level of Development, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of Dynamo, Python, or Grasshopper for workflow automation.
- Understanding of 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM processes.
- Experience with point cloud data processing and scan-to-BIM workflows is a plus.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
- Leadership skills with experience in mentoring and training junior team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international projects (USA, UK, Middle East, etc.).
- Certification in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM-related software.
- Knowledge of parametric and computational design for MEP systems.
- Familiarity with energy analysis, sustainability, and LEED requirements.
